This dish is originally from Padang, the largest city in western coast of Sumatra island, it is the capital of West Sumatra province. This dish can be found in any Padang food restaurant across many regions in Indonesia. It uses a lot of chili thus very spicy, but for those who cannot take spicy food, you can make it without chili (like in the photo).
