Klepon

Klepon is traditional boiled rice cake then coated with grated coconut, It is originated from island of Java, Indonesia. The sometimes liquid palm sugar filling will surprise you when you bite (curious how it will surprise you? order and try it then). The original klepon is coloured green, using the natural plant for coloring. There are other ingredients used to make klepon such as sweet potato like ours, different ingredient will give different klepon color.

People usually eat klepon for morning or afternoon or even nighttime snacks. Almost every cake vendor make this traditional sweet treats, even night cake pedlar travelling from place to place will sell it.

Indonesian immigrants in the past introduced this sweet snack to other countries and it is now also popular in other countries like Malaysia and Netherlands.
